In the midst and mayhem of vintage, MadFish Wines have joined forces with primo label company Supa Stik, to step out of the vineyard and into the surf on Sunday, 6th April 2014 to go head-to-head against other corporates in a surfing contest, and raise funds for SurfAid.
The MadFish team will compete against six other corporate teams, in a tag-team, relay-style competition, which is held in conjunction with the Drug Aware Margaret River Pro, 2nd – 13th April 2014.
MadFish is also excited to be one of the hospitality partners of the Drug Aware Margaret River Pro which is now recognised as a full World Championship Tour event, featuring the best male and female surfers from around the globe.
Each team in the SurfAid Corporate Cup will consist of four corporate participants plus one pro surfer. The team that raises the most money in the lead up to the competition has first pick from the selection pool of pro surfers. Other corporate teams include Macquarie, CINEads, Caporn Young and Herbert Smith Freehills.
In 2013, the SurfAid Corporate Cup Margaret River raised more than $85,000 for SurfAid; a non-profit humanitarian organisation whose aim is to improve the health, wellbeing and self-reliance of people living in isolated regions connected through surfing. SurfAid delivers programs in the Mentawai, Nias and Telo Islands, off the Sumatran Coast. The community-based programs involve education in nutrition, hygiene, healthy environments and disease prevention.
Team participants include Mick Gullan and John Rodda from MadFish Wines, as well as Peter Holywell, CEO at Supa Stik Labels.
