2021 marked the 30th anniversary of our beloved Turtle artwork by local artist Maxine Fumagalli which has graced the MadFish label for three decades. We saw this milestone as an opportunity to refresh our MadFish wine labels with a new look that emulates an authentic evolution of our brand – modern, positive, local, and influenced by our love for the South West coastline and the lifestyle it inspires.
Continuing to honour our heritage of supporting local artists, our MadFish new labels, designed by Western Australian artist Kyle Hughes-Odgers, perfectly encapsulate these values. Kyle worked with us to create a series of bespoke artworks inspired by the beautiful and uncompromising landscape of the South West of Western Australia. Each label pays homage to the grape varietal and the land from which the fruit is grown. The labels capture the colour and energy of our region in stunning abstraction.
Introducing the New Wine Range
Crafted with premium grapes from Western Australia’s Margaret River and Great Southern regions, MadFish wines are made for easy enjoyment and pure drinkability. To accomplish this, we focus on the vineyards where the fruit is grown, the quality of that fruit, and the refined processes we use. The result is wines of clarity and freshness that perfectly reflect an undeniable sense of place.
MadFish Sauvignon Blanc Semillon
The very first swirl reveals a young, fresh wine of incredible vibrancy with notes of tropical fruits, lychee, rockmelon and kiwi supported by sweet herbs and zesty citrus. The flavours of the Sauvignon Blanc provide a lively acidity that is mouth-watering and juicy, while Semillon brings weight and persistence through the finish allowing the fruit party to carry on, unhindered and joyous.
A lively wine that pairs beautifully with a wide range of food, from Hellenic inspired halloumi salads to fresh nori rolls and tuna sashimi.
Delicate pale straw in colour with some brilliance around the rim, this light, bright and strikingly modern version of Australian Chardonnay is a well-rounded, vivacious wine. White peach and grapefruit aromas emerge from the glass with a subtle and delicious underlying hint of fresh tropical fruit. Enjoy a cascade of orchard fruits and soft citrus flavours on the palate, underpinned by a zesty balanced acidity that enlivens the mouth. Expect these flavours to linger, evolve and then resolve with a clean finish.
Enjoy the MadFish Chardonnay in its vibrant youth, alongside rustic fare such as roast chicken and winter vegetables, or creamy vegetable soup. It also pairs beautifully with the mild milkiness and clean finish of mozzarella cheese in a Margherita pizza.
Discover fresh aromas of black cherry, plums and poached strawberries with heady flavours of liquorice, sweet spice and chocolate that complement the rich fruity flavours. Silky tannins dance across the palate giving structure and balance to this delicious Shiraz.
MadFish Shiraz is ready to drink now or to keep for a few years. Match with rich and wholesome foods such as lamb kofta, creamy beef curry, or chickpea, vegetable and coconut curry.
MadFish Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot
Bright ruby red in colour with an enlivened aroma of vibrant red, black fruits and hints of raspberry, blackberry, mocha and rosemary. The mouth-watering palate offers a great depth of flavour – soft forest berries and coffee mingle with graphite and a minty earthiness. Silky, powdery tannins leave a long finish with a lingering dark berry aftertaste. A wine of eminent approachability, with great integration and structure.
The perfect way to add a degree of sophistication to a meal of beef or portobello mushroom burgers with melted aged cheddar. MadFish Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot is also a natural choice to pair with slow-cooked braised beef short ribs or a rack of roast lamb with rosemary.
A clean, fresh, modern style rosé that skilfully runs the gauntlet between lively and engaging fruit sweetness on the front palate and a drier, refreshing finish. Strawberry, raspberry, and pomegranate aromas meld with subtle floral and sweet spice notes. A present but soft acidity spreads these fresh fruit flavours across the palate and provides ample length, making this wine eminently drinkable and utterly delicious.
MadFish Rosé is the perfect drop to enjoy alongside a charcuterie board of grilled chorizo, Jamon Iberico and warm sourdough bread with smoked salt butter.
Lovely lemon in colour with lime zest, citrus blossom and pear aromas. The generous flavours are of peaches and toffee apple, with a silky texture and mineral acidity that keeps the palate lasting and fresh. A great example of Riesling’s star quality, this is a stellar wine that suits any occasion.
Enjoy MadFish Riesling chilled alongside freshly shucked oysters. Whether you enjoy them natural, Fitzpatrick or with a healthy hit of hot sauce, oysters are the perfect pairing for Riesling – salty, saline and delicious.
Pretty in pink and pale in colour, this wine is like summer in a glass. A lighter style of aperitif full of exotic notes of quince and raspberry sorbet, lightly spiced with musk, rose petal and star anise. Fresh, punchy lychee, guava, raspberry and pomegranate flavours provide a luscious sweetness to the palate perfectly complemented by a zesty citrus crunch.
Gently spritzed, crisp and lusciously sweet this MadFish Moscato is a wine best served chilled as an aperitif or an accompaniment to brunch..
